Deia Aubrey


Deia R. Aubrey is a native of Flint, Michigan. She has been serving in the Army on active duty for over 29 years. She entered active duty service on April 24, 1989. Her military occupational career field is Civil Engineer with a concentration in construction, as a certified and experienced heavy construction equipment operator. Throughout her 29 year plus military career, she has served in every enlisted leadership position from Squad Leader to Command Sergeant Major.

The military has enriched her life by sending her to many diverse duty assignments to include, Germany; Korea; Ft Hood, TX, where she is currently serving on active duty; Alaska; Virginia, where she served on special duty as an Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist; Oahu, HI; and she has deployed to Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

Deia started her photography business in 2013. Photography has been a passion of hers since she was a little girl and received a view master toy for Christmas one year. That passion continued as she served as one of two senior editors on her high school's yearbook committee. At the advice and tutelage of her photography mentor, she launched Aubrey Photography. When she is not in uniform, she is behind the camera running a her small photography business where the motto is “Capturing the Infinite Moments” which is her mantra in life. “Seize the moments while you have them!”

Deia's education includes an A.S. in Construction Technology from Coastline Community College; a B.B.A. in Human Resource Management from Baker College in Flint, Michigan, and will be completing a M.S. in Human Resource Administration in 2019.

She is a co-author of the Amazon, best selling book, Behind the Rank, Vol 2 of which has been catalogued in the Library of Congress. She is the founder of “Bridge the Gap” Mentor ship Program. She is an avid volunteer in strengthening community relationships through volunteerism.

Deia has a daughter Brianca, 27, who is a Civil Engineer graduate of Old Dominion University, and her son James Jr., 21, who resides in Long Island, New York and attends Nassau Community College, majoring in Communications.
